Welcome to Los Feliz STEMM Magnet for the 2026/2027 school year! We hope that you’ve had a wonderful summer and that your children are eagerly looking forward to attending school.
We would like to take this opportunity to share some important information regarding the procedures for the first day of school and the remainder of the school year.
- Arrival: Doors open daily at 7:30 a.m.. On the first day of school, Wednesday, August 12, 2026, parents/guardians may escort children to their line up area on the playground. School staff will be available to assist with finding line up areas. Beginning August 13, 2026, students should be dropped off at the main entrance doors or via the drive up valet program. Students will report to their assigned line up areas independently and teachers will pick them up at the 7:57 a.m. warning bell.
- School Hours: Please ensure that your child arrives on time every day. School hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 2:23 p.m. The warning bell rings at 7:57 a.m. To avoid being marked tardy, all students must be in line when the warning bell rings.
- Early dismissal Tuesdays: Will begin on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, students will be dismissed at 1:23 p.m. throughout the school year to give teachers the opportunity to participate in professional development.
-Safety Valet: We strongly encourage you to use the valet drop-off service in the mornings. Safely pull up to the curb and school staff and/or parent volunteers will open car doors for students to safely exit vehicles and enter the school. Please do not drop off your children on the opposite side of New Hampshire Ave. and do not double park as this creates unsafe traffic conditions in front of the school. - Breakfast/Lunch: Los Angeles Unified is a Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) district and families do not need to submit a meal application. Under the California Universal Meal Program, students do not pay for meals. Free breakfast and lunch will be provided for all students; however, families are welcome to pack healthy snacks and lunch options for their children should they wish to do so.
-Dismissal: [M, W, TH, F at 2:23 p.m. and T at 1:23p.m.] TK/Kindergarten students are dismissed from the kindergarten gate. 1st and 2nd grade students are dismissed from the main entrance. 3rd grade students are dismissed from the northeast gate near the adjacent apartment complex. 4th and 5th grade students are dismissed from the southeast gate near the auditorium.
- Expanded Learning Program: The comprehensive afterschool program will start on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 2:23 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You may contact them at (323)493-2549 should you have any questions regarding the program.
- Visitors: To maintain a safe school environment, LFSM operates as a closed campus; All visitors must follow our school’s visitors policy. Visitors must ring the buzzer and office staff will assist you.
-Save the date: Back-to-School Night will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 from 4:00 p.m.-5:30 p.m.
